Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Testing software to discover defects and ensure that the product meets the requirements of the stakeholders.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I really like the job and the work side to the apprenticeship. It feels meaningful and it's great learning and getting paid at the same time, however, the degree side I really dislike as it takes even more time out of my day and the course is boring.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I've learnt about the different methods and techniques of testing throughout the software development lifecycle. Also learnt how to execute tests and write defect reports.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Well before we had to work 9 to 5:30 and then do university lectures and work at 8pm in the evening. Now they've changed it to lectures during the working day like the government guidelines state so I guess it's a lot better now.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
The company says they offer a lot of support and seem to have lots of points of contact, but I've never really needed it so I can't speak much about it.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
The university has module leaders who have email addresses and usually reply very quickly to problems. During covid they made it very flexible for people to take exams and had different procedures in place if issues occured.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
The degree so far hasn't really helped or applied much practical use in my job role. The modules have done don't really cover testing at all.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
My Delivery unit within the company has many Communities of Practice and extra curricular teams. I'm also part of a sustainability team looking to improve the sustainability within my delivery unit.
