Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
The structure of my day role can vary depending on the project I am engaged in and the work that is required to deliver. All roles within this job title will involve engaging in are IT based activities. From user Migration and Scheduling of deployment of new software to end user support and customer engagement.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I find my programme very engaging. It is a good way of outlining the company culture and giving all of the early careers a safe space to raise any concerns or issues we may have. An early careers development programme has been created by the early careers team within the business to ensure we are being developed in ways different to our day role.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes - I have learned countless skills within my role. Both technical skills such as proficiency in use of software and knowledge around hardware. But also my soft skills have been greatly developed. I have grown in confidence over the years and am now more than capable of directly engaging customers.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme provided by the early careers team has a clear structure with checkpoints along the way to ensure we are taking learnings away from our development sessions. The structure of our team is clear, with consultant reporting into a line manager where any questions and concerns around project work can be raised internally.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Support is always available from the business. There are many channels of support from the business, from mentoring to being assigned a 'Buddy' within your team for questions and concerns. There is also a mentor scheme available to those that want, where someone external to your team and your role will provide advise and support if required.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The training provider has provided a dedicated tutor to me for any questions or concerns around my qualification. This tutor helps with the link between my qualification and my day role. The training provider has also offered the opportunity to use an Academic Excellence team. This team will help with essay writing and any academic skills required to complete my qualification
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
There are a number of links between my qualification and my role, with the option on my degree of even a 'Consulting' pathway. However, there are some modules and theory parts of my degree that do not link directly into my job role. This has changed and developed over the years as my job role has.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There is lots of communication sent out within the company with regards to different activities that take place at each office. With the pandemic, there has obviously been a huge change in working in an office at all. However, the business has continued to send out communications about virtual extra curricular activities and professional development sessions.
