Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

For the first year I was learning everything Aldi, how to become the best store assistant you can be, whilst also learning little bits of management. In the second year I am shadowing managers and learning how to be the best Deputy store manager possible.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I do enjoy it but it is very hard work and lots of different hours.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt and developed many skills such as, building confidence, organisation, communication, time management, multitasking, working in teams and independently. I have also learnt lots of nee techniques when it comes to managing a business.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The communication between my trainers and store leaders isn’t as good as I thought it would be. However I always make sure my manager knows what is going on when I know what’s happening.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I do receive support form my employer, however I feel like they should provide more support for the apprenticeship. For example taking extra tile to really go through things with them and using off prod hours to explain things thoroughly. Also explains things once then expects youu to know what you’re doing.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive lots of support from my trainer and they are fully supportive of everything I do and help me in any way possible. If I have any questions they will elanswer them fully. Most trainers on this course are exceptionally good.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It helps me to understand the in depth knowledge behind what I am doing and why I am doing it. It also helps me improve customer service as I am more knowledgeable about the business values etc.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
It is really hard work, if you are hard working and strong minded this is the perfect job for you. It has great progression opportunities and really good pay/ perks
