Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Depending on my current project and role within that project, my day to day tends to vary. Usually, my day starts with catch up meetings with the Off-Shore staff. I also attend weekly internal meetings for the current account I am on which usually involves a variety of levels of staff, ranging from peers to Account Directors. In terms if interactions, I also tend to be highly engaged with the client after I am comfortable in my role and have a good grasp on activities ought to be performed.
My responsibilities and projects have varied widely. I have worked in Project & Engagement Management, QA and have also taken on technical projects such as Data Automation.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I do enjoy my programme to a certain extend although at times it can be very stressful. The work environment in itself is quite enjoyable if you have a good team on the account. Usually, they are quite aware of university obligations but there can be times where you might get overwhelmed with the double workload.

I have achieved industry recognized management certifications including Engagement Management, ITIL, etc.
I also have learnt a variety of soft skills, including but not limited to Problem Solving, Time management, Teamwork, etc.
In terms of professional skills, I have learnt different skills from each role. I have learnt how to manage projects, resources, etc.

Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The overall programme structure is laid out well but it is rarely adhered to. The total overview of the program is provided but can be confusing at first glance.
In terms of organisation, it seems to be rather messy. For example, there are last minute changes to lecture timings causing huge inconvenience at times. Sometimes lectures show up in your calendar, sometimes they don't so you have to be vary of the information provided and double check.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive good support from my employer in general. There is a dedicated Graduate and Apprentice Department that oversees the Apprenticeship program, ensuring that we adhere to guidelines and receive support. We also have shared Teams spaces where we can get support from peers.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Although support is provided, I find it to be not very necessary. There are several people who you can reach out for help when needed, for example, we have appointed TAs for each module who we can contact in case we have problems.
We also have student representatives who discuss any problems we face with the university and accordingly propose changes.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I have applied teachings from my modules into projects that I was on, such as creating certain diagrams during the project planning process.
During technical roles, I have used the skills that I gained from university to perform my tasks.
I have repeatedly used what I learned in university to my job (and vice-versa even!) so I can safely say that I do have gained extra knowledge about my job through my education.

I am a part of several initiatives within my company such as Sustainability Committee and the aforementioned Graduate and Apprentice Community. Additionally, I am a part of job specific communities such as the Engagement Management community and Architect Community.
For all of the above, I participate in voluntary initiatives such as school outreach programs or drafting of newsletters, etc.

Capgemini has years of experience in being an Apprenticeship provider, thus it perfectly understands the position of an Apprentice. The company hence ensures that we have the right support in order to finish the Apprenticeship. As a company, they also ensure that we adhere the Apprenticeship guidelines and are in close contact with our training provider.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Capgemini?
The interview process might seem long but it is quite straightforward. You don't need to prepare extensively for the interview or the assessment days - my suggestion is to be yourself! The more relaxed you are, the better! Everyone is super nice and the environment is quite relaxed during the whole process.
