Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Great opportunity but it does require sacrifice. It is a lot to expect of people to work a full time job at a high level and complete a degree, but it is okay money and the people are great.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
The people I work with for the most part. Often the modules are very engaging. Of course it can be demotivating when there is a module that you can’t click with.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I am more confident with my management abilities. I am more confident and my knowledge in business management has improved.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
1/5
Poorly. I never know what’s happening until a couple days before. The communication between the apprenticeship team and the retail stores is shocking. Most of the time I have to improvise and take it day by day.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
Depends. In store, I get a good amount of support. Not perfect, but suitable. University is five or take. Some offer help, others you have to fight for it. The apprenticeship team are great, but can be hard to get in touch sometimes.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
Very little. So little that I don’t even know who they are. But if it is who I think it is, they are shockingly awful. By far the worst part of the apprenticeship.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
They don’t. Everything I’ve learned is through the modules or in store experience. I’ve learned nothing at all from the apprenticeship training provider.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
None, but that is store specific. There used to be, but not since I joined.
