Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Tasks reflecting a trainees daily activities, subject specific workshops and training, various social events, virtual coffees and meetings with people at the firm from partners to trainees to support staff, and a final interview.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Taking part in the Culture Project was a great way to learn about the business and gain an insight in to the important roles people play to make RPC a successful firm. Everyone was keen to chat and give you their personal take. The business has a shared mindset and drive to succeed in their individual roles, and as a team.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I developed new research and drafting skills when completing challenging, interesting pieces of work for associates. I also developed my communication and networking skills, particularly over a remote platform.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Approachable, collaborative and ambitious. Everyone has a genuine love for what they do and many enjoyed coming into work everyday thanks to the great teams they have around them. This left me with a fantastic impression of the collaborative nature of the firm.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the firm. I felt valued and welcomed by everyone. I was surprised by how happy people were to spend time chatting and giving me their personal insight into the firm and the industry. I was able to speak with people at all levels of the firm and observed a shared commitment to great client service and business culture.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to RPC
Research the firm and their practice areas. Show that you are a well rounded character with a diverse range of experiences which can help you add value to the business. Finally, don’t be afraid to take on new challenges and be proactive at the Summer Scheme.
