Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at RPC?

Overall, the experience so far has been very positive. Everyone I have encountered so far has been super supportive and willing to answer any questions.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

I have mainly been tasked with drafting various letters and researching international law firms for local counsel review.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

4/5
While the workflow is a bit slow at the moment due to the natural progression of cases, the tasks that I am given allow me to feel like I am part of the team and making meaningful contributions.

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

3/5
The flexibility for work/life balance that the firm offers makes the salary seem reasonable compared to other firms within the City.
The benefits package is a little lacking, and could be expanded.

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

5/5
I definitely feel that it is. Being able to be a part of real matters and watch the progression of cases is all amazing experience for when I have qualified. My role also gives me the space to make mistakes while still having a safety net, so I can learn before my future career properly starts.

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

4/5
I feel I am developing new skills everyday as each ay has a new type of task for me. While some days have been quite slow, I have been able to complete online learning and training to help expand my skills.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?

5/5
My supervisor is excellent and makes me feel very supported in the role. He has also been an advocate for me in the department to help me try and source work,

How is your work-life balance?

4/5
The flexibility to work from home whenever I want really helps to maintain my work life balance. There is no official face-to-face culture in the firm (though I must preface this by saying it is team dependent).

What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

5/5
The culture has been extremely welcoming, and the open plan nature of the office means you might be sat next to the Managing Partner himself one day. It really feels like a relaxed firm dedicated to your development.

How would you rate RPC initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

5/5
The firm has a strong focus on a wide range of events and has networks in place if you require additional support.

How would you rate RPC CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

4/5
The firm has strong pro-bono initiatives in place which are always open to volunteers. Charity work is also encouraged.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend RPC to a friend?

Yes

Why?

I believe it is an excellent firm to train at. It offers high level work while also offering a very welcoming community ready to help when needed.

How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

5/5
I always felt that the firm was very friendly and have been pleasantly surprised to see that my assumption was correct.

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to RPC?

I would say that any prospective applicant should allow their personality to shine through in their answers. The firm's tagline is 'Strikingly Real' for a reason. Early talent are looking to get to know the real you, not a manufactured version.
