Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work within the L and D and HR sector ensuring the quality of delivery remains high, and that the Training and Develooment Officers are up to date with Sector changes. I also get involved various projects within the business.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the way there is blended learning, which was ready and in place for the start of my programme just after Covid caused the first lockdown. I like the flexibility and the fact I receive a day a week to work on the Apprenticeship in work time.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have both developed and enhanced existing skills, for example, I am now far more confident working with a budget, and now understand how to be a partner to other areas of the business. Overall I am far more confident.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The apprenticeship is organised into Phases, with a main focus for each phase, which also fits in with the CIPD knowledge delivery. There is a logical sequence to the delivery, but enough flexibility to alter this to fit in with my work activities.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

More employer is very supportive, giving me the full 20% off the job entitlement and making sure I get involved inprojects that are going to enhance my learning.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My Training and Development Officer is always contactable, and gets back to me quickly whenever I have a query. Support is always allowed to my needs, rather than being generic.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I have definitely benefitted in my role. I am far better at strategic decision making, analysing data and being able to act on it, for example, creating interventions for staff, etc. With working on projects I am better known around the business, creating a good network of contacts.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

It is currently difficult due to Covid as we can no longer meet up, however we do have virtual social activities, such as Yoga and Coffee mornings. We are also walking around the world as a business for mind, with staff submitting weekly walking updates.

Yes
Why?
The programme contents are up to date and of a high standard, the Training and Development Officers are sector specialists and can contextualise information to make it easier to understand.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Realise?
Initially I did not expect it to be so intense, however, my Apprenticeship is a L5 and contains the CIPD qualification, it does require a strong focus from the beginning, so be prepared. The Apprenticeship is quite structured, which is good as you get into a flow.
