To take ownership and ensure my lines run as efficient as possible, identify and resolve issues pending and forecast . Make decisions to ensure best most productive outcome . Support the guys in my team with queries and machine knowledge and understanding. Provide detailed information to daily meeting and my line performance manager
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

fit for leadership level 3 , has been a brilliant, interesting, development journey for me . I have surprised even myself the changes i have not just made at work , but at home as well . My general day to day attitude is motivated , ready to take on what ever comes my way . I love that feeling i get when i finish a good shift , not just hitting targets , but when the team has achieved something working together.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

This role is very much still in its early stages . Moving forward i am hoping a lot more leadership skills and accountability will come in to affect . People skills, as always is forever developing , everybody is different . i have completed 360 surveys with a few key members of my team , also carried out a learning style questionaire, and evaluated the findings to get the best out of strong personality team members.
i was an engineering team leader before this role and had a lot more responsibilities , i am appreciating this time to work on my personal skills to become a better leader when needed.

it has been a bit messy for me .
i started my apprenticeship with muller , then carried it on at nestle . Then with covid , it has been a patient journey . The trainers have been great with support , to get me to gateway end of last year . Now its just been a waiting game to get assessments completed, but will happen ...

How much support do you receive from your employer?

In General it has been ok , my previous employer were very supportive and took a vested interest in my progress and supported me with time required to get evidence work done .
My new employer , did step back and supported me when i needed it . Because i pushed for completion, nestle did have an option of saying no . Thankfully they did not.
i accepted that a lot of the work to finish my apprenticeship would need to be done in my own time . I pushed this to be done and my line manager really come through for me to evaluate my evidence and took a real interest in what my apprentice was .

Lifetime were great , the away days for doing skills endorsements and practice sessions were great . The lifetime trainers throughout the apprenticeship have been very supportive and approachable . I have had a handful of trainers throughout . Firstly with moving company , then redundancies , change of regions and covid . Got there in the end .
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

it has given me so many new skills , it has helped me understand how to be a good leader , the type of leader i am , the type of person i am and also perceived as . i have gained a confidence that i never new existed . i have become an approachable, supportive , confident and motivational leader.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Not a lot in the last 12 months . I do get involved with golf days . i am never one to to turn down a team night out . As and when charity events , social activity days start back up, helping support would be something i should get involved in . I will make it goal to organize an event , even if just a small one , this summer .

Why?
Firstly it is the safest place i have ever worked , i never feel in danger or see any uncontrolled activity being carried out .
From arriving at work , everything is organised , people are friendly .
Training and support is given , there is always someone to help .
At nestle, what you put in , is what you get out.
Hard work , good ideas and improvements are recognized and rewarded.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Nestlé?
Be confident in your answers , show your passion .
Have a look at the history of nestle , understand nestle principles , goals and leadership structure.
Try to express the type of person you are in your answers to interview questions . Use STAR technique in your answers, can be difficult sometimes, but generally creates informative answers that the interviewer will be looking for .
