Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
As of the minute my main responsibilities is to fix peoples incidents/ or complete tasks, however once i take my admin exam i'll be more involved in tasks groups such as VERA, inactive managers and more. there are times where my day does involve going on course to enhance my learning
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I do enjoy it far better than i did my school. Its like going to college but your work actually matters and your getting paid to learn, so 100% it's a joy. i definitely don't feel bad in the morning waking up for work and theyre far more flexible around my needs then college or school was

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
For software skills i personally feel like i could've learnt more but unfortunately our course instructor hasn't been very good and refuses to take our feedback so i do feel i had to do a lot of outside work learning to keep up. However from a work perspective, i do feel like my confidence has peeked with working in a office and my communications skills have gone up

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It is organised to the best it could be online. i do feel like they is a little bit lack of communication between the trainer and M&G as course dates are available ahead of times, and trying to do QA work on a normal day can be hard sometimes. however overall i would say the structure is good and fairly easy to follow
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
From my manager its ok. They are very busy a lot of the times however do ensure that once a week on a monday i get a one on one meeting with them incase i have any problems or need help. support from my supervisors are great. i can literally go to them with anything and usually receives help within the hour
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My support from my training provider is excellent. I can also go to them for help and my advisor always makes sure to thoroughly go through the work with me so i know what i am doing. They also fully understand if work has kept me busy and give me extensions if i need to. absolutely love my advisor
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I do feel my software development qualification will 100 percent help me in my software development role. the courses i go on for my qualification do have some relevancy to my role, especially Javascript courses. this is because my qualifications are super relevant to my job title and day to day work life
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There is one extra-curricular activity i am involved in. Every Friday, the IT scottish apprentice get together and talk once a week. this is because due to us being online we don't have the same social interaction we should have at the office so to make up for this we have a social

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend M&G plc to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Because of how flexible the company is. It means we aren't put under this over whelming pressure to succeed in every single area of life and because of this flexibility i feel i perform better as i know i can take my time to do the best work i can do
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to M&G plc?
My one tip is to show confidence. this is because it is so important to show you can get involved, even if you aren't confident in your area or just starting out, by showing you are confident in communicate and getting involved in a activity it shows you are a better team player for the company
