Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
No two days are the same. I help along side engineering technicians with planned maintenance activities, breakdowns and jobs spesifically made to help my skills, knowledge and progress. Apprentice on this program also go on block release to liverpool, where we learn a variaty of practical skills as well as theory.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I have only been with nestle for 7 months but I am really enjoying it so far. We have had our first liverpool block release which is very enoyable, i have met new people from other factories who are on the same programme. We are living in student accomadation which is very good, its a nice balance of work and getting to experiance some of the student life.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
As someone who has no engineering background other than fixing my bike at home, it is safe to say that i have learnt many new skills. Things such as how to use tooling machines, lathes and welding, the list goes on. I have also learnt the ins and outs of factory life, as well as how to opperate machinery.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
i find it hard to comment on this question considering the current circumstances, to say plans have been changing left, right and centre. i would say we have definitly been informed about changes to the programme such as our college block being pushed back. we are given work to do and set deadlines, the factory are there to help but it is very self driven and you have to push and be motivated.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
i recieve a lot of support from my employer, this is because i am very driven and when you are keen and willing then the employer is keen and willing to give you the support that is needed. it is very different to school in the sense that i have to go and ask rather than being told. i am also given enough time onsite to complete any work which gives a good work life balance
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
due to the push back of our college block we recieved online lessons over microsoft teams. now we are at college we are being given extra support and lessons to prepare us for our upcoming exams. during classes and learning practical skills we are given the support that i think we need
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
the qualification is tailored to the skills we need to perform our roles. things we are taught are all relivent to the role and will help us pass our qualification when we get to the end point assessment come the end of the 4 years of being on the scheme
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
i havent personally looked into what sort of extra-curricular activites there is with nestle. however i do know that they have them, this is something youd probably be able to find out on google or the company website. the one i am aware of though is "women in engineering" which is proffessional networking, they have meetings and events.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Nestlé to a friend?
Yes
Why?
i am really enjoying my time at nestle. i get along with the other employees and i find the job itself very intresting. liverpool is an amazing experiance and i dont know many other programmes that get this experience. nestle is also a very good company to work for and can open up many oppertunities in your future career
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Nestlé?
Dont worry if you lack experience, be yourself, be honest when applying. show that you are willing and passionate about the apprentieship. make sure to do your research and if you do get an interview make sure to ask relivent questions to make sure this is suitable for you. i get told on the daily no question is a stupid question (you wont know or learn without asking)
