Since I started the adult apprenticeship in Engineering Mechatronics my day to day activities include shadowing the shift senior techs and assist with brake-down issues on Production lines.
Some tasks are located for me maintenance planing and I carry them out under senior tech supervision.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Considering that I have two young children at home and sometimes I have to seat down and write coursework after they gone to sleep, I never regretted starting it.
If I knew better at the time I would done it before i did my Engineering Degree.

As part of the learning curve I have learned to operate new machinery in engineering workshop
- use electrical testing equipment
- Learned how to read technical drawings
- Produce component using hand tools
- carry out maintenance schedule using SMP

How well organised/structured is your programme?

From the Nestle part of organisation everything was done according to requirements.
I have regular review meetings with my mantour and discussions about my job logs.
Were he will ask questions about my findings and maintenance tasks
In completion we set up next meeting and to do tasks.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

From day one of my secondment into adult Engineering Mechatronics level 3 program i have received full support from my manager and engineering development team.
I can say that my time is 100% speed in engineering environment, either shadowing or carrying out tasks under supervision.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Training provider are doing their best considering the year we have had.
Some modules were cancelled and some could not being delivered on line.
Despite the difficulties we faced all teachers have been doing their best to assist me towards my qualification.

I graduated in Mechanical Engineering and started working as Technical Operator in Dolce Gusto at Tutbury .
I always wanted to be part of the engineering department but it was essential to have time served apprenticeship in order to progress.
Now that i am given this opportunity it is in my benefit to make the most out of it.

Tutbury factory is always involved in social activities and supporting local communities. Some of the activities are:
Group training to improve teamwork
5 a side football tournament
Running for charity and cycling work

I started my career with Nestle 8 years ago and it seams just like yesterday.
Never felt like this on my previous job, the work environment is pleasant and safe and this makes my day because i get to focus on the job and be sure to go home safe to my family.
