Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the virtual experience and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The virtual experience was fantastically adapted to the new ways of working, and gave me a thorough understanding of NatWest's purpose and future goals. Also with thanks to my placement days I feel that I now have a greater understanding of the finance function as a whole, within my placement days in finance I would usually spend a lot of time on excel, so be sure to brush up on the skills before joining.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
The Group seemed like a fantastic place to work at, one where they really put their necks out to care for their colleagues. I definitely feel that it is a bank that supports it's aim of 'Championing potential', definitely a business I would be delighted to return to. There are many roles available especially to graduates, with the opportunity to transfer to a different role once in the business, through internal interviews.

Company Culture

How would you rate business leader involvement during the virtual experience
5/5
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
A very safe environment I would say for an intern. One where as an Intern I was confident that I could email anyone across my function (Finance) whether it be a senior individual or a graduate asking a question, and within minutes they would be happy to jump on a zoom call or email me back an answer. For me the group is one which is hugely based around being an inclusive environment.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy the virtual experience?
The virtual experience was extremely well organized considering the sudden change from the internship being in office to having to be remote. I loved every second of my time on the experience, and have managed to connect and grow my network across the whole of the NatWest Group not just around my function area, with thanks to exposure to other interns through my CSR project.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group
When applying to NatWest there are a few top tips I would give:

- What's the groups purpose?
- What are the main areas of focus in their purpose?
- Can you support their purpose?
- Why does the area you applying to directly interest you?
