My role is to oversee the communications for all Apprentices and Apprenticeships in the Solent NHS Trust. This varies from social media campaigns, to organising and planning events such as award ceremonies.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am really enjoying the variety of work I am being offered, and the creative freedom I have been given within the confines of the NHS branding. I am given the independence to decide my own workload and how to approach each project
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have improved on my Digital Marketing skills, already creating small campaigns for Apprenticeship Applications. I have been given a lot of great guidance on how to match the branding, and use any software needed. I always get quick responses to my queries as well.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is clearly structured. I know exactly what the focus of each module is, month after month. There is clearly a organised structure to my learning and development, and it is clear who to speak to about any queries I might have.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have received all the support I need from employer. Not only am I provided with more than enough training, I am also offered any work equipment I might need, including new desk, or office chair. There is also a lot of support available for mental health wellbeing
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

So far, I have just begun my Apprenticeship training, but there is clearly options available for support. With the training being done online, I have found the online courses very useful and a great addition, and everyone ii easy to contact.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel that my qualification offers me the chance to look at things from a more technical level, and to take the time to learn the method and theory behind everything. Especially through platforms such as Google Analytics, it is great to see both learning and working perspectives.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Right now we are in lockdown so this is limited, however, there has been online fitness classes available, and the tea time break sessions. There is definitely options available for extra-curricular activities, perhaps though, a few more options would be good.

Would you recommend NHS to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Because this is a great place to work. There are always options for you to improve, and the managers are always happy to sit down with you and have a discussions about whatever matter you need. Wellbeing is also a top priority, and it makes you feel wanted.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NHS?
Take the time to have a look at all the services available to you. Not only can you get physiotherapy sessions, but you can book Mental Health appointments. If the workload ever becomes an issue, or you're struggling, there will always be people there to help you
