Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Day to day I am looking at current amount of people infected with covid.
I am currently doing a lot of project work and everyday I am using our data reporting system called LOGICS. We use it to report daily covid figures as well as monthly business metrics. This involves things like headcount and hours worked for each site.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy the programme. I did not start off too well in my first couple of years. However, in these unfortunate times, I have learnt the most and have really been stretched out of my comfort zone to really be a great worker but also a much more educated and great person.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt a lot of new skills. I have always struggled to present in front of a large group, however with this new role. I have been given a lot of great opportunities to develop this skill and improve it going forward with my new found and large responsibility.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme was slightly unclear at the start with extra activities that could be done within DHL. For example, individuals at my level are supposed to complete a lot of work or extra training on an internal website to cover more aspects around becoming a chartered manager. However, that has been made clear now and a lot of us are on top of that.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support my current employer. In my previous role within DHL I did not receive any support. However, luckily I was able to move roles and where I am not I have a lot of support which is great. I have the opportunity of weekly calls with my boss if I need anything which is a great help.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive weekly calls with my training to provide to ensure that I am on top of what needs to be completed. This is great as this ensures that I will not only get my degree but that I will also get the chartered management qualification as well as the degree.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My training provider has given me the skills to develop myself as an individual to perform at a higher level everyday. It has also given me the knowledge to help the business in saving costs, increasing operational output and improve interpersonal relationships between myself and my colleagues. It has helped me in every way.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are currently lunch break zoom calls for all apprentices, like myself along with graduates. We are going over all sorts of things that could take place like online yoga or charity events. There are so many different opportunities that are taking place around the business. This is definitely a strength of DHL.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend DHL to a friend?
Yes
Why?
As it is a great place to work. There are so many opportunities all around the business to gather a vast amount of knowledge. There are also so many opportunities to progress and work up in the business. Also high level or senior people have always been so supportive, this is another great reason as to why DHL is a great place to work.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to DHL?
The main tips I would give them are to never compare yourself to any others within the business. There are so many people that are in different sectors and taking different paths. If you compare yourself to others then you will drive yourself insane. The other tip I would give them is to be patient. You have to work really hard to progress. This may also take a long time. So embrace the grind and enjoy it.
