5/5
my role as a apprentice fabricator/ welder includes reading drawing, making brackets and plates. marking out, gas cutting and a small amount of welding.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
i really enjoy my apprenticeship the people i work with and around have always made me feel comfortable and have never treated me different to other apprentices.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
yes, i started my apprenticeship after doing some welding and fabrication in my previous college course. I feel i have massively improved my skills and knowledge on not only welding but gas cutting and fabrication also.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
i think the program is well organised the mentor system and training was very helpful and made it easier to pick things up quicker.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
everyone at William hare are very supportive from mentors to managers.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
since starting DTA in 2018 my tutor has been changed 3 times causing restarts, repeating work and work going missing. this has caused problems for everyone and made it hard to enjoy.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
i feel we learn more at work doing our apprenticeship then at college as everyone has different ways they work and how their work do things and at the training centre these are more generalised.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
there are some mainly organised by staff.
