Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Completing given tasks given to me by my foreman, this includes completing jobs in the workshop such as, plating, welding and workshop housekeeping.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I am really enjoying my apprenticeship, due to the fact that, i feel like i learn lots of new skills every day. Furthermore, i have lots of things to do around the workshop, which also helps with improving my skills.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Before i started this apprenticeship i did 1 year at a local college doing joinery, so when i started my apprenticeship i didn't have the skills needed to do a jobs that are available in the workshop. However, now i feel that i have learnt lots about the trade and i now do jobs either by myself or with a fully skilled fabricator.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It is very well structured as i am paced correctly, judging from my current skill set, and then i am put onto more complex jobs when my foreman feels i am ready. I have also spent most of my apprenticeship being mentored by fully skilled fabricator, and because of this i have learnt key skills from them.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I feel like i am offered a lot of support from my employer. This is because we are offered a lot of opportunities in the workshop such as overtime and chances to do courses. Also, if i am struggling with something in the workshop my employer will offer support to help me with the task at hand.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider offers lots of support. All of my class has been given phone numbers from the tutor, so we can easily contact them if we are struggling with topics. Throughout the pandemic, they have given me lots of support with the work that we need to complete in our own time.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
In college i learn lots of new skills which benefit me in company.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
We have a football team available
