Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role as a receptionist involves dealing with guest bookings, telephone calls, booking queries, booking amendments and making new bookings. Also dealing with cash and taking payments, giving great customer service to guests that are arriving. Dealing with health and safety whether these are daily, weekly or monthly checks. Ensuring the reception area is also covid secure.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Continued support and training during the training that is provided, the one on one learning is fantastic and the level of training that is provided is outstanding. The level of information that is available via the learning portal and how you learn one area at a time with additional support available at any time.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Developed new skills within the FOH role, learning all about the business objectives. Understanding more about profit margins, costs and linen management. Having more understanding on cost per sleeper, daily business costs, year to date and also period to date profits. Also how to give great customer service during these difficult times.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The learning programme is very well structured, all the information that you need to learn is available on the learning portal, the one to one support is organised very well with regular training appointments and if you need additional support off your tutor, they are available at any time you need.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer gives consistent support with my learning journey. They are always available if you need them on an area you are unsure of, always there to give advise, answers and to explain different aspects of the job. Attitudes within my site are brilliant and everyone works as a team including the management.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Doing an apprenticeship is not something i would of considered but having the training that is available within the apprenticeship is outstanding which builds your knowledge within the company, but also gives you qualifications as an end goal within the programme, it also gives you the opportunity to do a higher level qualification.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Doing this training gives you a wider knowledge on your role, learns you about not just being a receptionist but about being a team player with greater knowledge which will help you grow within the business. Which will give you the opportunity to learn different roles within your site and business on a wider scale.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Due to covid there has been less team activities, as a site we do have access to social platforms within the business, but also we have connected via zoom activities such as quiz evenings. Also doing more fundraising on joint sites social platforms which brings us together as a team.
