Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
My role is a team leader. This means that I run a shift when the store manager or team manager is not there. I plan the shift and lead the team in the day to day tasks.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I am enjoying learning more and being able to apply this to my job and also sharing my new knowledge with my team

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I would say I have the same skillset but I am more aware of the policies and processes.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
There are regular conferences where we all get together and learn and share our knowledge. I have regular sessions with my tutor but no professional discussions and I do not feel prepared. I also do not feel pushed to work harder and I don't get a lot of feedback or information from them either
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
With my old manager, I had a lot of support and he would always answer any questions or give me time to find things out for myself. With my new manager, she doesn't know the policies herself so I don't get any support from her. The Co-Op itself is very supportive to apprentices though.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I get a lot of support from [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] during conferences and he always has time to answer my questions or fix any problems I may have. However, he is not my tutor. Hart are very good at supporting us but I do not think we are always matched with good tutors.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Now that I know a lot more of the policies, I feel a lot more confident in my job and the choices I make on my shifts
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
Not as far as I am aware but my store does a lot of fundraisers in the store such as bake sales and colouring competitions for the children.
