Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role consists of overseeing and issuing posts on the TB+A social media accounts, website updates, strategy development, determining a plan for posts, creating content to upload and representing the organisation at various events and meetings. I additionally act as a mentor and line manager for our new Business Administration Apprentice, supporting her in her role and helping her to transition into a new and exciting environment.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I think it's really important to get along with your team and enjoy the work I'm doing and I can happily say all of this. My work is challenging, yet rewarding and my colleagues are always on hand to offer support when I need it. Being able to work with other apprentices has really helped me in my experience also, particularly with my degree and off-the-job training.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I've learnt a variety of new skills in my role, particularly through my Degree Apprenticeship and I've also developed on existing skills. I've taken part in specialised marketing courses, grown in confidence, learnt how to become a good manager and mentor to my apprentice, worked on my public speaking skills through presentations and networking events and more.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
At the beginning there were a few delays in getting started onto my programme because it was the first of its kind, however this was not my employers fault. Apart from this, I continually undertake personal review meetings with both my employer and provider, where I am encouraged to speak out and ask for help. My thoughts and opinions are always valued.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
There is always someone on hand to help me, whether this be my mentor, line manager, team or another colleague in the business. It was particularly challenging for me during the transition from Covid to working from home, however my employer gave me so many tips and resources to help me feel comfortable. Weekly catch up sessions were also arranged to keep us connected as well as online social events, e.g. quizzes.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
It's been difficult transitioning from face-to-face to online learning during Covid, however my lecturers always offer us support, whether this be one-on-one catch ups, peer review, group work and more. We were also encouraged to have our say in how our online sessions could be improved and these actions have been implemented into our lessons, such as using gamification to engage students.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I have been able to learn so much in my apprenticeship that I never thought I would have, even subjects like accounting and economics. At the start, I was a bit skeptical as to how these linked to marketing, but it's given me a much wider picture and will be so useful if I am ever to become a marketing manager. The topics are so diverse, it rarely gets boring.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Always. These have reduced quite a bit since Covid for obvious reasons, however my employer has still made an effort to keep us all connected, whether this be through virtual socials, quizzes, online CPDs and webinars and more. Our September Sustainability Week even got some of us taking part in virtual yoga and vegan cookery classes.
