Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I care for complex needs children in a home setting this involves vent care and suctioning from a tracheostomy, pump feeding and complex cares and hourly checks of a child and equipment that are keeping a child well.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have enjoyed every moment of the programme and still am, completing university with a distinction was amazing.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

New skill I have gained from this role is training of new staff, completing off duty for staff and taking bloods.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme was very well structured from start to finish, will help available any time.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer was very supportive and are still, they helped me when I asked and continue to support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

They have been amazing with help anytime of the day, they still are giving help and advice when needed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I have gained more confidence to lead and train staff and perform better within my team taking on more roles and responsibility.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Not that I know of but I am sure some are, I did attend the Apprentership Week event.

Why?
The help and support is amazing from start to finish of the programme, I and 46 and just finished university with thanks to the NHS that provided me with this chance.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NHS?
Work hard and support your team, doors can be opened and you can further your career with a life long of learning.
