To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
The company overall always keeps you up to date with what is going on around the business. The intranet page is updated every day to inform colleagues with key updates and information.
I love working at Sage and I'm lucky to have them kick start my career.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Working in an office environment surrounded by experts, my punctuality, reliability and personal responsibility have grown. I feel independent in developing new ideas and overcoming challenges that I may face.
There are a number of training courses that Sage offers, improving our working skills and to become stronger within the role.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?
I enjoy the flexibility I have around the apprenticeship course. The training provider Cambridge Marketing College input weekly tasks for me to learn and studying towards my qualification.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
I speak to a mentor every month, the conversations are mostly about career progression, my mentor has a lot of experience in the PR and comms industry so it's great to hear about her career choices, and learn from what she has done in the past.
Sage encourages colleagues to get involved in Sage learning, not only to work better in our roles but to process personally (for example, there could be a session on public speaking)
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
The online support system is easy to use and well structured. Each week has a good amount of reading, listening, watching, and writing tasks.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
I'm looking forward to leading the communications on a campaign to put my learning in practice. This will really show me if 1 year of PR learning as helped me gain better insight of the PR industry.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
Sage Foundation encourages colleagues to take the time to volunteer their five paid days per year, to support charities and local communities. For example, this can be mentoring and helping a young child with education learning andsupporting unemployment with interviewing. This is a great success as Sage puts in a lot of effort to ensure positivity around the world.
Recommendations & Advice
Would you recommend Sage (UK) Ltd to a friend?
Why?
The Sage culture welcomes people from different backgrounds from around the world, showing diversity, and inclusion.
Sage has careers in different job industries. It's helped me start my career in the PR and comms, and I would recommend this to anyone who wants to not only be part of the company, but to watch it grow and become part of the success.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Sage (UK) Ltd?
Like any job, you need to act professionally. Although, I see most colleagues as long life friends so it's great to connect and crack a joke.
The interviews were professional but chilled, the team wanted to know more about myself, my interests, hobbies, and really get stuck into what I enjoy doing. This helped me show them my colours and personality.
