Vacation Scheme Participant Review

One week in Property & Casualty Insurance and one week in Media. My role consisted of research tasks, preparing presentations and research notes, communicating with members of the team (supervisor and trainee buddy primarily) in order to complete this work.
Overarching these tasks were a series of networking events and a culture project encouraging us to learn more about people across the firm and their experiences with RPC.

While obviously we were not working on live matters, I felt as though the tasks put me very much in the driver's seat of the 'matter', and that I was getting very strong exposure to what it would be like to be given high level responsibility as a trainee.

I became more appreciative of not being afraid to ask questions when approaching tasks and when I get to sticking points.
I definitely developed my skills in how to approach and write research notes, and how to adapt my tonality when writing an internal brief as opposed to a note to be given to a client.

The support and guidance was fantastic. The fact that different members of a team would be assigning tasks rather than all through my supervisor meant I had different points of communication for each task which also helped with meeting new people. The sense of support from everyone at RPC was tangible, especially from the graduate recruitment team.

Incredibly welcoming, inclusive, friendly, and personable. RPC feels like a place where I could truly be myself and be appreciated for that.

100%. Compared to an earlier vacation scheme, this was far better run, I was much more interested in the work, I felt as though I could be myself as opposed to pretending to be someone else. All in, a fantastic two weeks with brilliant opportunities to meet other vacation schemers as well!
