Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
On a day to day basis, my role consist of helping manage multiple aspects of the alumni project. The role is very varied, so no two days are the same. Some example of my responsibilities is planning alumni events, managing all admin of project, creating comms for the alumni network.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
At first, no, as this was while I was getting to grips with the role itself. But by the half way point of my placement, I was given a lot more responsibility. Examples of this include: planning events individually, managing all the admin for the alumni project, being the Leeds charity rep.

Yes, I have developed significantly since being at FDM. The main skills I have developed is confidence, attention to detail, organisation, adaptability and flexibility.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I received a lot of support during my placement. Especially in my first 6 months, when I was still learning about the role. This was mainly from my line manager, who helped my develop significantly in the first stages of my placement.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture was very warm and friendly. I have always felt comfortable at FDM since I joined and the atmosphere in the Leeds office really makes the job enjoyable.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
To a large extent, I found my placement enjoyable. Although I have had ups and downs in the role, overall I would recommend to anyone looking for a placement in project management.

What advice would you give to others applying to FDM Group
I would advice that you do your research about FDM group, I think sometimes when people are applying for placement roles at FDM there is a lack of understanding on the business model, which would help alot when doing interviews.
