My Role as a Level 6 Technology Solutions apprentice focuses on supporting delivery and coordination within a project environment, working closely with a PMO Delivery Manager. on a day-to-day this involves tracking outputs from the delivery team and analysing reports. I also spend my time capturing notes from meetings, organising information, and ensuring key updates are communicated. There is a strong mix of administrative, analytical, and communication-based work, which gives good exposure to how project are managed in proactive. Overall, the ole is varies and provides solid insight into both the technical and business sides of delivery.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the programme to a good extent, particularly because it is structure around consultancy model rather than a single fixed role. Across the apprenticeship, I've had the opportunity to experience different environments and ways of working, which keeps the role varied and helps build a broader understanding of how organisations operate. The combination of academic modules, such as Business Risk Analysis and Entrepreneurship, alongside practical placements makes the learning feel relevant and transferable. while individual placements can vary in how engaging they are day-today, the overall programme provides consistent development, exposure to different challenges, and a strong foundation for a long-term career in consulting.

Throughout the programme so far I have developed many new skills and further enhanced existing skills. From a professional perspective, I've improved my communication, stakeholder management , and organisational skills, particularly through working in project and delivery-focus environments. I've also gained experience in structuring information, tracking engagement, and supporting client-facing outputs, which has strengthened my attention to detail and ability to work in a structured way. Alongside this, the academic side of the apprenticeship has helped build my understanding of areas such as Business Risk Analysis the requirement and methods to calculate, analysis and proactively mitigate/ reduce allowing me to think more critically, Seeing the learning then seeing it in practice in a live environment allowed me to both learn then develop the skills from 'basic knowledge of' to 'Good understanding of application' in a short span of time.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The core framework of combining university learning with practical experience works well in principle, and there is clear intent around developing both technical and professional skills. However, at times the alignment between academic content and day-to-day role responsibilities could be stronger, and the level of structure can vary between placements. Support is generally available when needed, but it can sometimes feel reactive rather than proactive. Overall, the programme provides a solid structure, but there is room for improvement in consistency and coordination.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a good level of support from my employer overall, particularly in terms of guidance and access to experienced colleagues. Working alongside a senior PMO Delivery Manager has been valuable, as it provides regular opportunities to ask questions, gain feedback, and better understand how to approach different tasks. There is also support available when it comes to balancing work and study commitments, which helps manage the demands of the apprenticeship. While the level of support can vary slightly depending on the placement, it is generally consistent and accessible, allowing me to develop with confidence in my role.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive a good level of support from my training provider when working towards my qualifications. The structure of the modules is clear, and there are resources available to guide learning and help with assignments. Tutors are generally approachable and willing to provide clarification when needed, which helps when working through more complex topics such as Business Risk Analysis and Entrepreneurship. There is also a reasonable level of flexibility, which is important when balancing work commitments alongside study. While there are occasional areas where communication or timing could be improved, overall the support is consistent and helps keep progress on track.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel that the qualification supports my performance in the role to a good extent, particularly by providing a structured understanding of key concepts that can be applied in practice. Modules such as Business Risk Analysis and Entrepreneurship have helped me think more critically about decision-making, stakeholder impact, and overall project context. This has made it easier to understand the reasoning behind certain approaches used in delivery environments. While not every aspect of the academic content directly aligns with day-to-day tasks in every placement, the broader knowledge and frameworks gained are useful and transferable. Overall, the qualification strengthens my ability to contribute more effectively in a professional setting.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
