Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
We were given trainee-style tasks from a different practice area each day. Tasks were generally engaging and gave a good insight into the firm and the work of trainees.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
The placement also functions as an assessment to acquire a training contract. We had talks from various people within the firm and had plenty of opportunities to ask questions about the role and the opportunities available.

The placement was a great opportunity to develop legal and commercial skills like drafting documents, proof-reading, and analysing information.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The culture was outstanding. At no point did I feel like I couldn’t ask questions from supervisors about the tasks. The staff were all really friendly and helpful, which made a huge difference to the experience.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I enjoyed the placement very much. It was well organised and staff had clearly gone to great lengths to make sure it was enjoyable for everyone.

Focus on doing well on the assessments and interviews, but also show your personality. Staff want to get to know you as people so make sure you put yourself forward.
