Future Propulsion Systems Undergraduate Review

Primarily worked as a Reliability Engineer in Powertrain. Most of my time was spent working with Powertrain Engineering teams and facilitating Failure Mode Avoidance (failure analysis) for their components/systems. Involves lots of meetings each day and report writing depending on the outcome of meetings. Also some time spent on XiL simulations and data analysis for validation purposes. This involves using MATLAB and Python - creating and running scripts, and processing results.

Lots - individually responsible for supporting 17 components in failure analysis, running own sessions with engineering teams, presenting own work to wider team

Lots of support and guidance from my manager, senior manager, and mentor. Weekly 1:1s with mentor, regular catch-ups with manager. Huge focus on growth and development in general. Lots of training. Support from Early Careers and guidance from Cohort Leads.

Very positive environment, inclusive and diverse culture. Large emphasis on diversity. Good work ethic and interesting work being done.

Found the year highly enjoyable. Lots of interesting work to get involved in, lots of opportunities to be taken, supportive environment, opportunity to take responsibility early on.
