Computer Science and Engineering Intern Review

Assisting digitalization, developing algorithms and controllers to capture, store, analyze and visualise process data.
I am also involved with simpler things like updating loadware on some of the machines we have on the factory, assisting with data analysis for my team, but those take only about 10% of my work time.
Special thing about this role is that I fully lead my own projects, not just work under someone's direction.

A LOT. Like an amount that was scary at first. But now I'm fine, I'm chilling, dw. You are supposed to be leading your projects yourself, but still with genuine buy-in from a big business you are part of, which means you have responsibility and people wanting you to do it asap and all the good stuff.

Communication, management of myself and others, technical skills, business understanding, problem solving.

Not too much, but this may have been specific to my exact role, as I am a computer scientist in a team of engineers, so I don't exactly have anyone more senior than me from technical perspective, so no-one to easily ask questions from etc. There are still people like that in the business though, if one needs them.

Everyone is quite chill until you start asking people to do something. And then it's war. But really most people are supper friendly most of the time, all the technicians are extremely nice and helpful as well. But everyone in the office is kinda understaffed which does mean that they are very unwilling to discuss what they have to do with you.

I was good. Definitely taught me a lot. I may not want to work an office job anymore lol. So yeah, it was good, I wouldn't want a different one.
