Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
As a Software and Data Analytics Intern at Siemens Healthineers, I support digitalisation efforts by developing tools and automating processes. My daily tasks involve creating data pipelines using Python and Power Automate, building Power BI dashboards, and developing internal web apps with Flask and React. I work closely with different teams to improve efficiency, automate manual tasks, and provide insights through data-driven solutions.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I was given a high level of responsibility from the start. I worked on real projects that directly impacted internal processes, such as automating workflows, developing dashboards, and building tools used by teams across the business. I was trusted to manage tasks independently, contribute ideas, and deliver solutions that added value.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I've gained strong skills in Power BI and Power Automate, learning to build advanced dashboards and automate complex workflows. I also improved my Python coding practices, writing cleaner and more efficient code. Additionally, I picked up new skills in Flask, React, and data handling, while developing better problem-solving and collaboration techniques.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship. The work was meaningful, the environment was supportive, and I had the chance to contribute to real projects. The intern community also made everything 100× better by creating a fun, collaborative, and motivating experience.
