Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Two 5 month placements in two very different teams which both had different responsibilities. Typical tasks involved CAD work, analysis using both hand calculations and software, and hands-on work in the labs.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Both my placements felt they had an effect on the business, whether this was working in a larger team, or leading a project of my own.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I applied a lot of the skills I had used at University, which gave me a real feel for how the Mechanical Engineering degree is used in the real world. Developed a lot more practical skills, as one of my placements involved a lot of hands-on work.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
Everyone was very supportive, whether this was from people from in my team, my line manager, or the wider company. Everyone was very friendly, easy to talk to, and willing to help me in any way they could.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
MBDA had a great company culture, and I felt very valued during my time there. While there was a lot of people working from home from time to time, everyone was very friendly, and due to the large Early Careers Programme, there was a lot of people joining at the same time as me that had a similar experience going into it.
