PE - Electronics & Complex Systems-Ugrad (DPP) Review

My general role is HIL (Hardware in the loop testing). My work involves supporting and maintaining the Platform Release Train (PRT) through software flashing, HIL testing, and validation of ECUs to ensure continuous integration and reliable release of platform features into ADAS domain controller.

I was given a decent amount of responsibility, particularly for helping the team when I was in the office with the hardware setups. All the work I've done have mostly been critical tasks for the project in the testing area.

I've learnt a lot about Linux, flashing software into ECU's, working with Jira for project management, using and editing Confluence pages.
For programming skills I've developed python skills but also learnt about CAPL scripting. I'm also familiar with using CANoe.
For soft skills, I've learnt to improve communication, working better in a team by making sure everyone is aligned and networking.

At the start, the guidance was not great but eventually after discussion, I got much better support in my main work. When it came to looking for trying other placement opportunities, support was low.

It was quite relaxed and very friendly. Everyone is open to understanding whatever the situation and they'll adjust to your skill level.

I enjoyed it quite a bit although I wish I got to do some other placements in my department because I wanted to explore other areas. But all in all, it has been a good experience.
