Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Supporting build of vehicles, identifying and solving engineering issues. Analysis and application of technical engineering requirements to validate and ensure robust design.
Communicating and engaging in technical discussions, reviewing and understanding future design and material developments.
Engaging in rapid prototype development and testing to validate concepts and ideas.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Responsibility was steadily increased over the course of the placement at a rate that ensured I felt comfortable and supported within my team. By the end of the placement, I was confidently working on real engineering tasks.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

Managing multiple projects simultaneously has massively improve my organisational skills.
Opportunities to engaging in technical discussions has resulted in improvements to my confidence. Many opportunities to apply and develop engineering skills from university.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

Plenty of support from my personal team along side plenty of support meetings from the early careers team and my personal buddy. This ensured I always had someone to talk to if I needed support.
