Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Carrying out a wide array of marketing focused tasks. Project management including liaising with external stakeholders to deliver engagements with healthcare professionals and raise the profile of the brand. Working within compliance guidelines to create useful and accurate content/materials. Working independently and within a team, a mixture of leading projects and working with other project leaders.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Very high level of responsibility. I have been assigned a significant portion of team budget to split between projects accordingly. I run projects independently, including leading various teams of external and internal stakeholders. I am able to initiate and close projects based on my own recommendations. The team listens and cares about my opinions. I am definitely treated like a normal member of the team rather than an intern.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

Significantly developed skills in project management, team work and working under pressure/to tight deadlines. New depth of knowledge of the industry. I have been given a high level of responsibility and there is an expectation to work independently to deliver your own goals and contribute to team targets. Room to innovate and make suggestions to the team.

Despite being encouraged to work independently, there is constant support from the team and wider business overall. People are always happy to answer questions and help when needed.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture has been excellent. Everyone is hard working and cares about achieving a common goal, but there is also a high awareness of employee wellbeing. People check in regularly to ensure that your workload is manageable. There is also a big focus on enjoying work and creating a fun atmosphere.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I have absolutely loved my placement. There is a huge network of placement students which has made the experience really fun and sociable. The depth and breadth of projects available is excellent and keeps the role varied and interesting, as well as challenging. I have learnt a huge amount and thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing.
