Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I support the marketing team in delivering initiatives across the UK. On a day-to-day basis, I assist with planning and executing campaigns, contribute insights to help shape strategy, and focus particularly on IVAs, virtual and hybrid events.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, my manager placed a lot of trust in me from the start. Even though I was new to the industry, she saw the value in my transferable skills, which pushed me to challenge myself and deliver quality work.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

Yes, I've learnt new skills and built on existing ones. My background is more on the creative side of marketing, so stepping into the pharmaceutical space has been a completely new experience. it's my first role in the industry, and every day has been a valuable learning opportunity.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I received a lot of support throughout the internship. Coming from a non-science background, I had to do lot of reading and training to understand the pharmaceutical space. My manager and other colleagues were willing to explain processes and share helpful materials. It also helped that the company had a wealth of materials in it's library, which made a big difference.
