Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role is largely to assist managers in both Professional Services and Facilities Management in leading tenders in order to procure goods and services for the company. This involves liaising with potential suppliers, setting up meetings and working with data to understand proposals.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I've been given a lot of responsibility, I've taken a lead role on several projects and have had numerous tasks on the side both in and outside of my team.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I've had a very good support system at work throughout this year. I have worked under two managers in my team, both of which have been really helpful and have guided me really well. The rest of my team has also been extremely supportive and welcoming. The early careers advisor at Unite Students has also been someone we can go to with any questions or issues regarding the placement. And, finally, the other placements in different areas of the business have been good to lean on and discuss my experiences with.

I've genuinely really enjoyed my time here. I feel like I have grown both professionally and personally and have thrived under the culture of Unite Students. Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Unite Students to a friend?
Yes
What advice would you give to others applying to Unite Students
I would definitely recommend doing your research on the company and making sure your cover letter reflects this. I would also say to try and match the feel of the company- while still professional, it has a relaxed and good-humoured culture. Furthermore, I would stress that no one expects you to know how to do the role you are applying for- as a placement, you are here to learn.
