Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My placement consisted of 4x 3 month rotations to allow me to experience all functions within in the People Team. This meant that no two days were the same. Everyday activities included attending meetings and independent work on the project I was working on at the time.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
The team trusted me to take ownership of my projects, whilst offering support whenever I needed it. I was able to communicate the level of responsibility I wanted to take for every task I was given.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have both learn skills and developed pre-existing ones. I have gained confidence in skills which I previously used to doubt myself in thanks to the support of my team. In particular, I have developed my public speaking skills - something I had no experience in before. The Team along with the Early Careers Advisor really helped to shape my experience and focus on learning skills specific to me.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I received an incredible amount of support- more than I could've ever asked for. Everyone within my team and across the company were constantly willing to help. Alongside this, the Early Careers Advisor made a big effort to check in with us and hold sessions to support us with both professional and personal development.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
It was a really valuable experience and I'm so glad I did my placement with Unite Students. I learnt so much and developed my skills in a professional setting, helping me to feel more confident for when I finish uni. I have also made a network of supportive individuals who I know would be willing to support me throughout the start of my career.
