Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role varies depending on which team I'm in, however, the overall day-to-day tasks involves reviewing press releases/written pieces of comms and editing the angle/proofreading it. Then ensuring senior colleagues and various teams have reviewed and approved the content. My role also involves managing PR campaigns and our creative agencies, ensuring we're meeting our target/KPIs.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, lots of responsibility when I was ready. I didn't get chucked in at the deep end, when I was ready, I was tasked with a large campaign to look after and left solely to lead on it which was a huge achievement for me when it received 100 of pieces of coverage.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have developed my grammar and proofreading skills by constantly reviewing and editing documents. I've also developed my PR knowledge, I've learnt what makes a good news story, how they are drafted, issued, and the effect it has on a business. My confidence has improved as I have to communicate with senior colleagues in the business through emails, meetings and presentations.

There's so many experts in Aldi's PR team with years of experience. I was supported throughout, from assistants to management.
