Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Facilitating all Board of Management related activity including meetings, guests and other administrative tasks. Embedding the local sustainability strategy from reporting, project management and research.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I took ownership of many projects as well as the local sustainability reporting for the business. I also gave sustainability presentations across the business allowing me to develop my network outside of my department.

My line manager and the rest of my team were incredibly supportive and were always happy to help. There was also a sense from around the business that people are happy to share their expertise and give up their time to help others.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Everyone at VWFS radiates a sense of pride of working for the business. It is a really nice place to work and this is largely down to the people.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I really enjoyed my placement at VWFS. I have learnt skills which I can take back to university and into my future career, and I have been able to network with a range of lovely people from across the business.
