Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Timely and accurate supply of day-to-day Pricing and Reporting activities including the provision of insight to the business to support the overall used car strategy.
Develop and update suitable reports to support the management team with committee attendance, VWG interactions and supplier management.
Source additional information from third parties where necessary to more accurately price vehicles, such as specification data from Porsche.
Keep any outputs such as specification calculators maintained and updated.
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of all pricing at point that the vehicles available for sale.
Deliver all regular reports in timely fashion in consistent format and without error.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I was given opportunities to create tools that were then able to be used by the wider team to make insights and decisions based on them that can then be used once I leave as well. I was also given the opportunity as I got more comfortable within the role to lead a project.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I received a lot of support and guidance throughout my placement. There was constant communication with my manager, who regularly checked in with me and was always approachable whenever I had questions or needed help with tasks I was struggling with. They also made an active effort to support my development by helping me build skills I wanted to improve, whether that was through giving me relevant tasks, offering feedback, or encouraging me to get involved in new areas of the team’s work.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture was really positive, and the general atmosphere was welcoming and supportive. Everyone I worked with was approachable and willing to help, which made it easy to settle in and feel part of the team. It’s a nice company to work for, with a strong focus on collaboration and employee development.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I really enjoyed my placement, mainly because of the team and the wider department. Everyone was great to work with—friendly, supportive, and always willing to help. It made a big difference being in such a positive environment where I felt comfortable asking questions and getting involved. The culture and people definitely made the experience enjoyable and rewarding.

I’d advise anyone applying to Volkswagen Financial Services to show a genuine interest in the automotive industry, as it really helps you understand the context of your work and stay engaged.
