Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

On a daily basis I will be answering and responding to various external and internal stakeholders, regarding various changes or complaints we receive that are in relation to our suppliers we manage. Also, verifying and paying invoices sits with the undergraduate. We manage over 30 suppliers relations ships and around 60% of their monthly invoices are verified and paid by myself

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, I was given lots of responsibility from day one. There are lots of processes and tight deadlines that sit solely with the undergraduate in the team, and there is no micro-managing to make sure they are completed on time and accurately

Communication skills have increased rapidly throughout the year. Due to the position involving managing the relationship with various businesses it has required me to grow in confidence with daily communication, whether through emails or through direct meetings face-to-face

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

There was an abundance of support during my placement year. The implementation into the role was carried out with great thought as they have now had placement students in the team for over 7 years, so they have lots of experiencing helping students settle into working for a big corporate company

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

My placement has been an incredible year to grow as a person and I have been provided with exceptional opportunities. The team culture and business culture as a whole has made working for VWFS a really enjoyable year and I am not looking forward to leaving and heading back
