My role involves monitoring the portfolio to ensure the scorecard is performing as expected. My day to day involves a range of tasks from creating reports, data gathering tasks, and data analysis. I also assist the team and sometimes wider business with projects and reports.

Yes, I was given a lot of responsibility with the data available to me as part of the job was to prepare and validate the data. This meant tasks throughout the month involving the data were passed on to me. I also took on responsibility during projects to help my team.

I've learnt the foundations of software skills such as python, tableau and excel and have developed my analytical, written communication and presentation skills.

This varied from situations. There were some points in which it felt like there were gaps in communication when I'd been asked to do certain tasks but overall, I received a lot of help from my team when needed. For personal growth, everyone in the department was more than happy to help with personal questions, overviews and advice.

The department itself doesn't come into the office or socialise that much which was a shame. Everyone seemed very work oriented. However, within my team and the teams that I interacted with most, they were very friendly in the office and were always happy to help.

I enjoyed getting the experience in the field I want to work in. I was able to get a lot of experience out of my placement as well as get a feel of what the corporate atmosphere is like. There were some times where I felt like I was being pushed to be an actual full time analyst and wasn't getting the same experience as the other undergrads in other roles.
