Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

As the Commercial Performance Undergraduate I aim to help the Insight & Performance team drive commercial decision making for the business through actionable insight. I contribute by assisting with conducting product and channel analysis and making recommendations based on the findings. I am responsible for the collation of information from all product teams for monthly Senior Leadership Team reporting and monthly channel volumes. Contribute to the development and maintenance of a reusable set of governance tool and templates. Improve and simplify weekly and monthly routine processes. Conduct primary research to assist the team make informed decisions. Collaborate with the campaign team and provide insight on campaign performance.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes. Collaborated and was in communication with multiple product owners, members of the Senior leadership team and Board. Presented to large audiences and was responsible for reporting outputs that were broadly distributed across the business.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

- Challenged to be creative and conduct in-depth research to find effective solutions independently to problems I closely dealt with, ultimately helping me put forward a better approach to an existing process.
- Deepened my understanding of the broader company landscape to be able to contribute more strategically to future tasks.
- Had the option to take on online courses (via LinkedIn learning) and workshops to enhance technical proficiency and interpersonal abilities such as excel, mental resilience and sustainability courses.

We received lots of training and had access to loads of resources. The company culture is very friendly and supportive so it was easy to take advantage of my network.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I enjoyed it a lot. I have felt major progress in my personal development and growth in my interpersonal and technical skills. I felt welcome and supported by the employees from the very start and have built many valuable connections.
