Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
As an Internal Auditor, we perform audits of public and private sector clients, reviewing their internal controls and providing them with risk assurance in a specific area. This involves a range of different areas and clients, and involves on site visits.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
As a placement student, I was treated as a graduate from day one, which meant that as well as being exposed to a high level of responsibility early on, I also got a taste of what graduate life would be like and was able to see how graduate colleagues around me balances the job with their exams.

I have greatly improved my confidence and communication skills, as this role requires you to ask a lot of clients the right questions to truly understand how their organisation works.

Be yourself, and be confident in your abilities. RSM recognises hard work and talent, and their is a stronger focus on how well you will fit into the team dynamic than your skills from University.
