Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Working within the Product and Technology team to develop new tools, and build upon already existing systems, adding new functionality. Heavily involved within the team, taking part in daily stand-ups, covering progress on tickets and blockers faced. Involved in team wide meetings, looking at the quarterly plans, roadmap etc.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Given an incredible amount of responsibility. Spearheaded a new, vital project for the business, in which I was trusted to, and given the autonomy to work on key features within this project. Also worked on the main system and other services, allowing me to gain an understanding of how the business operates functions and operates.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Developed my understanding of the software development cycle, as well as how a software development team operates.
Improved my understanding of TypeScript, PHP, Vue.js, Laravel and Vuetify.
Gained experience with QA, writing tests for API endpoints, and getting familiar with Postman.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
Lots of support received. Never felt any pressure to rush my tickets, and every member of the team would give you the time to explain a concept to you, and help you out when needed.
During onboarding, was given sufficient time and resources to gain an understanding of the system, and programming languages used before starting work.

Loved my placement year. So glad I accepted the offer, and could not have asked for a better year. I learnt so much, and was involved in a great team, working on an interesting project.
