Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Producing deal summaries & helping to track deal negotiations alongside assisting with a range of drafting requests. I attending meetings and take notes where relevant whilst assisting with a variety of ad-hoc requests.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

The responsibility was gradual and very much dependent upon my ability. Once it was clear I was capable of tasks with little assistance, the responsibility followed.

As a new starter, several initiatives were in place to provide support through buddy systems, mentor programes. My team were very active in introducing themselves and making time to answer any questions or queries.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Collaborative, inclusive and welcoming when starting. Every team will have a different approach therefore it can be difficult to figure out the approach.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I extremely enjoyed my placement year and the work it included. The social aspects and meeting various people across the organization was very beneficial. It was rewarding to see how my work improved and how it contributed.
