I have been a part of a number of projects, typically doing CAD work and some report writing.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given a good level of responsibility - neither too much or too little. I also felt there was someone else I could lean on if need be.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

New skills include AutoCAD and its various add-ons such as OpenRoads. I have also developed my Excel skills and my report writing, email writing, and general interpersonal skills.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

There was a good atmosphere in my area. People felt comfortable to chat while still getting their work done. There were also different social activities within and outside of working hours which allowed us to get to know our coworkers.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I have enjoyed my placement. I was able to develop my learning from University in a professional context. I also enjoyed the experience of working in an office and getting to know people already working in the industry.
