Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I am part of the tunnel ventilation team, this involves analysis of air/pollutant flow within tunnels and optimising airflow to best ensure the safety of tunnel users. I have to do calculations to ensure certain criteria are met and fall within regulations. Run simulations to see what current/potential designs are like and what needs changing.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I am very content with the level of responsibility I have been given. I feel like the work I am given is not impossible but still challenges me to learn. I also feel like I am making a direct impact in the work I do.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have become much better at Microsoft Excel and use it on a daily basis. I also have become somewhat proficient in Mott MacDonald's in-house software called Mott Tunnels which is used for analysis of airflow.

It is a very relaxed atmosphere, and everyone is super friendly. The culture is very inclusive and it feels like a stress-free environment.
