Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Fantastic insight day! The day was split into lots of informative sessions with a range of people, from the recruitment team to associates and trainees. There were plenty of breaks and lots of opportunities to ask questions throughout the day. Everyone was very friendly and looking to help. Highly recommend!
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was lovely to meet and hear the stories of a wide variety of people from the firm, from trainees to partners across lots of different areas. Lots of different paths to becoming involved in a legal career were represented as well which was fantastic!

I have definitely developed my commercial awareness - I now think of it as more of a living, breathing concept and as a way of thinking rather than just trying to memorise facts

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
From the overview I got, I thought Gibson Dunn was a very inclusive and helpful law firm. The open door policy really stood out to me, as despite being a large international firm, the smaller cohort of trainees allowed for you to know everyone you’re working with. I was also impressed with the diversity and pro bono panels which seem to have fostered a very collaborative and supportive work environment.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
The insight day was fantastic, ran by lovely people who were on hand during the day. There were plenty of opportunities to ask questions and the talks were very informative. I was left with a very positive view of Gibson Dunn and a very strong desire to pursue a career within the firm!
