Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The day consisted of a welcome session where we were given an insight of the firm by the grad rec team (who were absolutely lovely and welcoming) and training principal. We have 2 sessions on the firms core practice areas: corporate and dispute resolutions. Additionally, we heard about the pro bono initiatives at the firm, I was incredibly impressed by the variety and the firms commitment. Despite being online, it was extremely interactive as we participated in commercial awareness activity which allowed the participants to get to know each other and have some fun debating.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
I enjoyed hearing about the firms dedicated pro bono team which is involved in a plethora of initiatives, slowly changing the world. Most firms tend to not have a dedicated team so it was nice finding out how truly committed the firm is to pro bono.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I have developed my expertise and knowledge in dispute resolution, I enjoyed hearing about the partner and senior associates work. Additionally, through the commercial awareness case study I picked up the necessary skills to excel in a real life case study that I may have to do in the assessment centre.

How would you rate business leader involvement during the insight

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Despite the event being online, I was able to gage the firms culture as being friendly and approachable. For the grad rec teams warm welcome to the partner talks and trainee panel discussion, everyone seemed eager for us to learn about the firm and what it has to offer. I enjoyed the ice-breaker session learning about everyone's fun fact. Additionally, all the participants were absolutely delightful, as we all got along.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
It was amazing, the agenda really allowed attendees to get an insight into the firm. Through the workshops I was able to learn about the firm practice areas, international strategy, training structure and support and culture. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is interested in the firm as I was able to learn about the firm in detail, information that I would have not found through the website.

Truly try and understand the firms goal and allow that to come across in your application relating to your experiences. They are an incredible firm so I believe everyone will be able to find something that allows them to draw from their experience.
