Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
A jam packed day where attendees could listen to a range of partner Q&A panels and trainee presentations. The day also included a commercial awareness workshop where attendees were split into two teams to argue their side of a debate on a commercial topic. This simulated the case study exercise that applicants would complete were they to be invited to interview with the firm.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
In the interactive workshop, which was highly time sensitive, I developed my time management skills, actively watching the clock and keeping tabs on our team’s progress.
I developed team leadership skills in the presentation prep time, taking charge and delegating to the quieter members of the group, making sure they felt involved and confident.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Genuinely encouraging and close knit. It was made clear from the get go that there was no unhealthy competition or competitive aspects to the firm, and everyone is happy to help.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I thoroughly enjoyed this insight event. It confirmed some aspects of my research that I had already done on Gibson Dunn but also introduced me to new aspects I hadn’t yet found out about. It was a brilliant event to attend prior to completing a vac scheme application.
